A man in Sarasota was arrested after he attempted to evict a woman, who had not paid rent in some time, from his daughter's house - he allegedly used an axe in lieu of an eviction notice.
According to the Bradenton Herald, Joseph San Fillipo, 46, grabbed an axe and headed to the woman's room, which is located in the back of the house. As the door opened, the woman started screaming and forcefully kicked the door shut, but it didn't shut all the way and San Fillipo grabbed the woman's arm. It would have been more interesting if he had smashed through the door and stuck his head through the gaping hole and yelled "Herrreee's Joseph!" But he did not...
The unnamed woman was not injured in the incident.
San Fillipo was charged with simple battery and criminal mischief. He was released shortly after on bond.
