As if having an open container while driving isn't bad enough, you should always make sure to have enough marijuana to sell as well as a loaded firearm concealed underneath your seat.
"As I passed the vehicle...I observed the driver drink from a bottle that appeared to resemble that of an alcoholic beverage," Officer Jose Sanchez wrote. "The bottle's content appeared to be dark yellow in color, reasonably appearing to me to be the color of beer." The beer turned out to be Corona - which is really more like colored water.
Edgar Cortes did his very best to avoid the impending police interaction by slowing down almost to a complete stop in the middle of the road apparently in a feeble attempt to stay behind the police cruiser. It didn't work and he was stopped. As the officer approached the car he noticed Cortes push something underneath his seat leading him to draw his firearm. During roadside questioning Cortes handed over the pot, which according to the officer could be smelled throughout the car, and then police removed a loaded 9mm pistol from underneath the seat.
Cortes was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm, armed possession of pot with intend to sell, and driving with an open container.
