Florida Friday PSA: Know your grandchildren’s names

A warning for grandparents in the Daytona area of Florida; know your grandchildren’s names. Oh, and while we are passing out such wonderful free advice, let the kid sit in jail if he calls for bail money.

If you’re confused, then allow me to explain. Apparently thieves in Daytona have scammed some women in Deltona and New Smyrna Beach by calling and claiming to be a grandson who is in jail and needs to be bailed out.

Deputies there warn that before sending money, contact the relative directly to confirm the emergency.
