I see a lot of things in Florida. Wild hogs, salamanders, bobcats, coyotes, snakes (all sorts), iguanas, crabs, manatees, dolphins, and of course, sharks. Shark encounters are fairly common here in Florida. Seeing a good sized one float by your backyard, that’s not all too common.
Not much is reported here but I assume this is one one of the many canals you find that lead out to the intercoastal. I’ve seen manatees and others swimming in these areas, but not a lot of sharks, which while certainly found in the intercoastal are believed to prefer the ocean. To get to the intercoastal they need to find an inlet to get there and then live in water that is considered “brackish” and not pure saltwater. At least that’s what this NY transplant has been told.
