After blasting through an intersection and hitting the front end of a vehicle, 46 year old Michael Quick, of Boca Raton, attempted to flee the scene as fast as his drunken legs could pedal him - which was not far. He should have been quicker...
The driver of the car immediately got out to check on Quick after the impact. Then, according to The Orlando Sentinel, Quick picked up his two-wheeler took off down the street. But the driver started his engine and tailed him. When the driver saw a police officer driving northbound on Dixie Highway just around the time the accident happened, the driver began flagging him down.
The two caught up with Quick in the 3200 block of S. Dixie Highway, but he refused to listen to officers and was handcuffed and arrested, police said.
Quick had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol, according to the report. He told officers he was riding his bicycle and did hit a car and did not stop to give his information to the driver, according to the report.
Police arrested Quick on charges of DUI causing property damage and hit-and-run.
