What do you do when you find a game player is using hacks to win player-versus-player battles in Guild Wars 2? Game maker ArenaNet came to this conclusion: public execution.
Behind the scenes, ArenaNet was in the process of deleting his characters and accounts.
Groups of players were teaming up to take him out, but it wasn't working. It finally came to the attention of ArenaNet when users posted videos of the hackers action.
Chris Cleary, identified as a Game Security Lead for ArenaNet, said: "We don’t need to see it in-game. Sometimes good video evidence is enough for me to track down who it was. In this case, the video was enough for me to find out who it was and take action."
In the video, you will see that the hackers character was stripped to his underwear and jumped from a high tower to a grisly death.
How's that for (simulated) justice?
