Google adds offline apps for PC and Android

Posted by: Timothy Tibbetts on 07/26/2014 05:54 AM [ comments Comments ]

Google has finally gotten around to adding a section for apps that don’t require an internet connection. Whether you want to just save on bandwidth, or are concerned about privacy, this section has both covered.

When the Android section was recently introduced there were a limited number of games. At the time of this article, there were 54 games available and no utilities.

You still are stuck with the same problem all app stores have; they simply suck. It’s so hard to find a good app nowadays and all these app stores steer you where they want and fining the new and unique apps remains difficult but we have to give kudos to Google for getting this one right. I would have preferred that you could go to any category and then select offline apps but why get it right the first time?

Android users can head to https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_3000933_offlinegamemea

PC users have the choice of countless offline apps and not just games. You can check that out at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/collection/offline_enabled
