Using auditing, fuzzing and other in house security processes, Google has fixed a number of bugs found in its Chrome browser and Chrome Frame platforms. They have posted a security update. One flaw is considered critical, nine high and one rated as medium.
The most critical, memory corruption in the SSL socket, and one of the high rated holes did not result in any bounty being paid out. However, the remaining 8 holes resulted in nearly $10,000 being paid out.
The largest ever bounty paid went to Colin Payne, who discovered a Windows-only problem were bad handles were being passed to the renderer. His reward was $2000.
Existing installations of Chrome on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux should update automatically. Other users can download the browser or the Chrome Frame IE plug-in from Google.
