Dr. Alan Eustace, Google’s most senior executive has broken the record for the highest parachute jump, this honr was previously held by Felix Baumgartner - Dr. Eustace is now the second person to break the sound barrier.
Wearing his specially designed spacesuit, Dr. Eustace hit a top velocity of 822 mph during a free-fall from 135,908 feet - the entire free-fall lasted about 4 1/2 minutes.
Dr. Eustace apparently declined Google's offers to help, seeking to avoid the spectacle and frenzy that surrounded Baumgartner's jump. Instead, he worked quietly for three years on the self-funded project — outside of Google's halls — to make his mark and shatter the altitude record by falling from the stratosphere.
Paragon Space Development Corporation helped develop a life support system that allowed Dr. Eustace to breathe in pure oxygen during his long journey up and quick drop down.
