Google Play Store is riddled with malicious apps that are designed to infiltrate networks and steal data.
Known as Dresscode, the malware can also add devices to a botnet, carry out DDoS attacks and take part in spam campaigns.
Dresscode can also infect home networks where it can crack weak router passwords and spread to other devices on the network.
The malware masquerades as games, phone layout themes, phone utility apps and more. It has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.
Always be wary of downloads, even at reputable places. Look at reviews, check spelling and grammar; few reviews may be a red flag.
