Google pressures the Language Council of Sweden over use of 'ogooglebar'

Google lawyers want the term to solely refer to Google's search engine, and not for instance Bing's. This is obviously a benefit to any marketing that Google currently has.
The Council decided that it would be easier to just remove the word rather than have to go to court with the giant.
Engadget reports that the head of the council, Ann Cederberg said that "it's our use that gives it meaning -- not a multinational company exerting pressure." For now, at least, it looks like the definition is headed in the same direction of the one-time home of the Swedish Chef translator.
