Google is in the process of implementing new warnings for users that encounter a listed suspicious site, the changes are out only on the Canary and Dev channels for now and are part of Chrome's Safe Browsing service.
The Safe Browsing service enables applications to check URLs against Google's constantly updated lists of suspected phishing and malware pages.
With the Safe Browsing service you are able to warn users before they click on links in your site that may lead to malware-infected pages, prevent users from posting links to known phishing pages from your site. And lastly, you can check a list of pages against Google's lists of suspected phishing and malware pages.
This particular revamp seems to just give a more professional looking appearance for the warnings that we already see from time to time when surfing around the web and essentially does exactly what it did before, except now it does it in red.
That being said, anything that helps draw attention to potential hazards, even if it is only a color change and a cartoon removal, is a worthy venture.
