GoToMyPC has been forced to reset all user passwords due to what the company calls a "very sophisticated password attack."
GoToMyPC is a service similar to TeamViewer and is managed by IT firm Citrix.
The IT department noticed something very wrong on Saturday and initiated a reset of all user passwords. The attack was similar to the attack on GitHub where crooks test various username - password credentials in the hope that some users reused passwords across different services such as LinkedIn.
The ATO's (account takeover) attacks can be expected to increase with the release of huge data breaches that took place at companies such as LinkedIn, Tumblr, MySpace, VK.com, VerticalScope, Fling.com, and many others.
This should serve as another reminder to users to change their passwords if they are using the same across different sites.
