An early morning break in at a CVS pharmacy in Melbourne, FL., turned out to be a very quick apprehension for responding officers when the suspect fell through the ceiling and landed at their feet.
According to Florida Today, officers were patrolling near the intersection of Parkway Drive Wickham Road at about 1:30 a.m. when they heard an alarm coming from a nearby CVS pharmacy.
"The officers immediately relayed this information to other units and approached the business exterior where they found an open access hatch in the drive-through ceiling," the release stated.
"While securing the perimeter and waiting for the K9 officer, the burglar fell through the drive-thru hatch and down to the officers waiting below, the report said.
According to a police report Alex David McBride, 28, of Melbourne was arrested "while wearing gloves and a ski mask, carrying a bag of burglary tools and prescription pills."
