Numerous users of Groupon in the UK have been complaining about their accounts being hacked.
The hackers have been making expensive purchases and then having mules pick up the products and resell them. Groupon is blaming the reuse of passwords as the culprit in these hacks.
Bleeping Computer did a search and could not find any users complaining about getting hacked in the US and Canada. It seems to be mainly a UK problem.
UK based as well as any other Groupon users should keep an eye on their bank accounts for fraudulent activity and immediately contact their bank to cancel the transaction as well as contact Groupon who will resolve the issue within ten days.
As always, users are being advised to change their password and not use the same passwords on multiple sites.
