Guccifer the email hacker is back

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 01/08/2014 05:12 PM [ comments Comments ]

Remember the email hacker named Guccifer? He hit the news when he hacked into George H W Bush's inbox a number of years ago. Well, he has resurfaced.

Recently, according to documents that he handed over to the crime news website The Smoking Gun, he has hacked into such celebrities and newsworthy individuals such as comedian Steve Martin; actress Mariel Hemingway; Kitty Kelley, and politicians such as former President Nixon aide John Dean, and the director of Romania’s intelligence service.

Motive for the attacks are unknown, but Guccifer handed documents over to The Smoking Gun “in case I disappear”.

Guccifer is known to use proxy servers to stay one step ahead of investigators. And it is being speculated that Guccifer is hacking into the accounts by using security questions to gain access.
