More and more Windows 10 apps are being released to do just about anything you need from tweaking to blocking it from installing. Here's are the latest tested and reviewed apps added on Majorgeeks.
Windows 10 Spotlight Wallpapers are 170 wallpapers that are available as background images on Windows 10 lock screens so you can use them for your background (wallpaper) on any PC.
They are beautiful 1920 x 1080 images that you can save and resize as your wallpaper. We've tested them going back to Windows 7 and since they are just image files they should work on any computer that can use JPEG files as wallpaper.
It would be fun to extract somewhere out of the way, then load and rotate them so you always have a different wallpaper. The screenshot below uses an example of doing this in Windows 7.
Windows OEM Product Key Tool will easily extract and display the product key associated with your PC.
While a Windows 10 upgrade won't need it, a fresh install will. Either way, make sure you have your product key before you upgrade. This will quickly extract and display the embedded product key from your PC. No user interaction is required, you just run the download and it immediately displays the detected product key.
Edge Blocker Microsoft Edge bothering you? It's pretty deeply embedded and hard to avoid in Windows 10. Some people want to get it out of the way.
There are many reasons to do this. One reason might be that Edge can often be used on a restricted account. Or maybe you just don't want it forced on you for a web browser or PDF reader. Whatever the reason, if you need to block access to Edge, this is a simple solution.
The best part is that it doesn't have to be permanent. Simply check or uncheck it at will with this free, portable app.
Win10 Theme Revealer helps you discover hidden themes in Windows 10 and restore colored title bars safely and easily.
The app is portable so simply unzip and run the 32 or 64-bit version.
It gives you 3 options to reveal, revive or use Windows lite. Best of all there's a final option that allows you to simply restore to Windows default so there's no risk to your computer.
Win10 Wizard is a free tool that helps Windows users upgrade to, then tweak and manage their Windows 10 system.
I don’t think there’s another app around quite like this one. It can scan your computer to make sure you’re ready to upgrade and report any problems and warn you about things like losing Media Player, etc. You can see that in screenshot 1 below. From there you are forwarded to the Microsoft Site where you can find the instructions and download for Windows 10.
