Fourty-six percent of iPhone and iPad users have switched to iOS8 in just the last 6 days. Fourty-nine percent of users are still on iOS 7.
However, this still, according to Mixpanel, is a slower uptake than iOS7. They claim that 33 percent of devices are using iOS 8 after six days, compared to 58 percent adoption for iOS 7 in its first six days.
Part of the reason seems to be the huge size of the update. It requires 5.7 GB of free space plus it is slow on older devices.
Never the less, with nearly 50% of users on the new system, developers should have no problem supporting the platform's newest features.
