ISIS issues threat to Twitter staff over blocked accounts

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 03/02/2015 06:16 AM [ comments Comments ]

ISIS has called upon supporters around the world to kill Twitter founder Jack Dorsey as well as any employee they can find due to some accounts being blocked. #boohoo

Twitter's Terms of Service are pretty clear on the matter; “direct, specific threats of violence against others.” Users are also banned from using the service “for any unlawful purposes or in furtherance of illegal activities.”

But that hasn't stopped supporters of the terror group posting messages in line with the one Buzzfeed picked up - “You started this failed war,” the ISIS post says. “We told you from the beginning it’s not your war, but you didn’t get it and kept closing our accounts on Twitter, but we always come back.”

“But when our lions [brave men] come and take your breath, you will never come back to life.”

Twitter is taking the threats seriously and gave this statement: "Our security team is investigating the veracity of these threats with relevant law enforcement officials."
