Jigsaw ransomware is getting nasty. The longer you wait to pay the ransom, the more files are deleted.
Jigsaw surfaced in March and can be had for only $140.
One the first day of the infection, Jigsaw will delete a few files. On the second day, it will delete hundreds of files. Wait till the third day, and it will delete thousands of files. And if you tamper with the malware or try restarting your machine, it will "punish" you with the deletion of 1,000 files.

How do you protect yourself? Make regular backups and be sure to unplug any backup hard drive when not in use. And remember to keep all software and protection programs up to date.
The ransom for Jigsaw is only $23 at this time. But like most ransomware, the price may go up as you wait.
