TMZ claims they have an exclusive look at new Apple iPhone 6

I usually use TMZ as my go to site when I am looking for a funny Way Off Base type story - finding alleged pictures of an iPhone 6 posted - yeah, not so much!
The phone was supposedly smuggled out of the Foxconn factory in China by an ex-employee and given to a friend who then contacted TMZ - why not TechCrunch, Geeky Gadgets or SlashGear?
Anyway, TMZ says that the inner workings are not running an authentic Apple IOS, which is SOP during the development stage for security purposes. There is also some type of new sensor on the front - function unknown.
So there you have it - the Apple iPhone 6 from TMZ.....
Gizmodo and 9 to 5 Mac chide TMZ by pointing out that unfortunately this is just one of the many, many Android clones making the rounds. The first giveaway is the fact that the phone's homescreen was designed in the likeness of iOS 7, not iOS 8. But there's an even more damning (and more subtle) problem with TMZ's "exclusive" model. 9 to 5 Mac explains:
"Most icons in iOS are simply images which can be ripped out of the system firmware for these clone manufactures to exploit, but the calendar icon is actually generated dynamically (so the day and date labels can update to match the current system time). This makes it an easy way to spot clones, as the fakes are often too lazy to recreate this accurately. In this case, the first image shows that the Calendar icon uses a heavy bold font-face for the date ('13'), when iOS 7 and iOS 8 use a much thinner lightweight font."
