A phishing scheme has possibly affected the personal information of 2,800 present and former North Oldham High School students.
The breach disclosed personal information including names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers.
The method used was a phishing scheme that was directed at the nutrition services computer. A data base of personal info is stored on that system.
The high school is working with the Kentucky Department of Education as well as the supplier of the software involved. Meanwhile, all affected students are being contacted.
A notification letter said: “We do not have evidence at this time that personal information was accessed but we also cannot say definitively that it was not.”
