Kid Rock issued a statement to any would be burglars after a man was arrested for attempting to break into his Clarkston, MI. home.
On his blog the Bullgod issued the following warning; Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives. I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are and YES, I do profile people. I am currently profiling any balding white male on crutches driving a white creeper van. Please contact the Oakland County Sheriff Tip Line at 1.800.773.2587 with any information on this jackass. I am offering a $5k reward for any information leading to his arrest.
The warning worked as the unidentified man was cuffed at his home after two tipsters revealed his identity to police.
According to the Detroit Free Press the man, whose identity is being withheld pending his expected arraignment on Monday, is at the Oakland County Jail, according to a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested at his home Saturday morning, according to the sheriff’s office, which had received two tips about the man through its dispatch center.
The man’s 1994 Ford Club Wagonvan, which may have been used to try to force open Kid Rock’s gated driveway, has been impounded, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The attempted break-in at the Independence Township home infuriated Kid Rock, who had posted this online message earlier this week: “Don’t mess with a (expletive) Like Me.”
Those words were posted Friday on the singer’s website, along with security camera images showing a van and a man on crutches.
According to the sheriff’s office, someone used a van to ram a gate on Kid Rock’s property about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and then tried to break into a building on the property.
