If you have an Android device, you are being warned to not download Wallpapers Blur HD and Booster & Cleaner Pro from the Google Play store.

The two apps have been downloaded by thousands of users who are now infected with LeakerLocker ransomware.

The malware is capable of locking down the phone in order to steal user data in the background, including email address, contacts, browsing history, text messages and calls, device information, and even take photos with the camera.

The hook for this ransomware is not a payment, but a threat to send your private information to all your contacts and leaked online.

McAfee discovered the malware and is warning users to not pay the ransom. They have already informed Google and expect the two apps to go dark in the near future.

McAfee also warns users to check out any apps they might think of downloading. Check out reviews and question why an app might want the permissions they require.
