Leap Motion, and Google have announced that Google Earth will support gesture control. The announcement came as part of the launch for the 7.1 release of the premium download which also coincides with Earth Day.

Peter Birch, Product Manager, for Google Maps for Business says Google Earth gives you the ability to travel anywhere on Earth or beyond with three-dimensional imagery and satellite maps allowing you to virtually trek the globe from the comfort of your computer, bringing the world's geography to your fingertips. Today weÂ’re announcing new features for Google Earth Pro that let organizations easily edit maps and accurately measure complex site views.

Gesture control will give the experience a whole new dimension, as you now can take yourself up the Grand Teton, or through the old city of Jerusalem in a more interactive way, like waving your hands to pan, zoom and spin the images as opposed to just using your mouse.

The video shows how seamless the experience will be, kind of like flying around the world from your living-room!
