Shortcut Cleaner is a purpose driven locator which will scour your machine for any Windows shortcuts which may have been hijacked (maliciously or otherwise) and then clean them.

The process, which checks for the telltale properties of a hijacking, will ensure that no unwanted programs are opened leaving you vulnerable to possible attack. Once a compromised shortcut is discovered; Shortcut Cleaner automatically cleans it, effectively blocking the unwanted program or web site from opening. As an added feature, it will also target and clean Registry entries associated with known hijackers.

The tool provides the user with a logfile (sc-cleaner.txt) which contains a list of every shortcut detected and successfully cleaned. The log will be readily available right on your desktop for review.
