A crazed woman broke into the home of a family in the town of Hull, UK; the family was home at the time of the bizarre home invasion. At one point the woman claimed that she needed to be hidden because there is a "naughty man at the door."
An intruder broke into the home of an east Hull family, threatening to kill their son and trying to strangle their daughter with a television cable. The woman was screaming and shouting when she burst into two houses in Earsham Close, Longhill estate, leaving a trail of destruction, late on Friday.
Samantha Adams, who was home alone with her three children, told the Hull Daily Mail: "I keep thinking about what would have happened if she had managed to get the wire round our daughter's neck – she could have killed her."
A 2ft gaping hole in the door, smashed-up furniture and broken shards of wood are a stark reminder of their night of terror. Samantha was alone in the living room of her house in Earsham Close on Friday night when the woman burst in. It is believed to have been the second house in the street she broke into that night.
Samantha, 26, said: “She burst in, screaming her head off and locked the door behind her. I was in the lounge and she ran in, trying to grab my phone. Then she went in the kitchen and grabbed a butter knife – she was shoving it down her throat trying to make herself sick. She went through periods of calm and then started kicking off again.”
Samantha said: “At one point, when I was trying to call the police again, she got her arm through the door and smashed my mobile phone. She was so strong, she crumpled the front of it with her hand. I knew then that I needed the house phone downstairs, so I needed to calm her down.”
While the family were in the bedroom, the woman’s mood varied from violent anger to moments of calm. Samantha says she heard the woman boil a kettle and bring it upstairs. She also logged on to her Facebook account using a laptop.
Eventually, 20 minutes into the ordeal, Samantha managed to get the house phone and make her third attempt to call 999. This time, she managed to speak to an operator and explain what was happening, but it would be another 20 minutes before police arrived.
When police officers arrived, the woman calmly answered the door and said Samantha was the one who was trying to hurt the children. Officers ran upstairs and realised the children were cuddling close to Samantha.
Police last night confirmed a 22-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.
