Apple's newest operating system - Yosemite - is now available for testing in beta form.
Follow these steps to download it.
1. Head to the OS X Beta Program website and click "Sign up."
2. Sign in with your Apple ID or create one if you don't have one.
3. Accept the OS X Beta Program Agreement.
4. "Thanks for signing up for the OS X Beta Program," a review screen says. "We will email you when OS X Yosemite Beta is available for download."
5. Before you download anything, make sure your Mac is running Mavericks, which is available in the Mac App Store.
6. When the download is ready, Apple will email you a redemption code that will let you download and install OS X Yosemite Beta from the Mac App Store.
7. Once installed, play around with it and send any comments, concerns, or bug reports to Apple via the built-in Feedback Assistant application.
8. But keep it to yourself. Apple says that the software is confidential. "Don't blog, post screen shots, tweet or publicly post information about the pre-release Apple software, and don't discuss the pre-release Apple software with or demonstrate it to others who are not in the OS X Beta Program," Apple said.
