I write a few “MajorGeeks locals” stories because well, it’s Florida. But some stories come too close to home.
These 3 were arrested with a mobile meth lab parked on the main drag of Vero Beach alongside the ocean. I know the area well as it was literally one block over and 2 blocks up from where I recently moved from. There is plenty of free parking but if you park a beat up car at 5:00 AM on a Sunday morning, police are going to have a look – and they did.
Authorities came upon the scene around 5 a.m. Sunday, while on a routine patrol, according to the police reports. They saw a male pacing back and forth on the sidewalk in front of the Village Spires Condominiums.
Due to recent auto burglaries in the area, the male’s behavior and “suspicious” apparel – he was wearing an orange safety vest with no shirt under it and a construction helmet (Village People?) - prompted authorities to check him out. When police turned around, he took off and was apprehended just a half a block up and 3 blocks from where I away from where I used to live.
Coleman, Bowie, and Black, were arrested and booked into the Indian River County Jail Sunday evening.
They are all currently in custody at the Indian River County Jail with no bond set.
