A teacher in Rochester, NY., was arrested, along with her boyfriend, for allegedly stealing approximately 50 school instruments and then pawning them to feed the couples heroin habit.
Danielle Conner-Willowglade, 30, a music teacher at the Keshequa Central School District in Nunda, and her boyfriend Nicholas Bump, 32, were both arrested on various charges which include, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
According to the Democrat & Chronicle, Conner-Willowglade has admitted to taking up to 50 instruments from the school in an effort to gain cash due to an addiction to heroin, according to state police.
Bump would accompany her to the pawn shops and the two would alternate taking the instruments into the pawn shops.
The investigation began to gain momentum after a trooper pulled Conner-Willowglade over for a routine traffic stop. After the trooper noticed a tuba in the back seat of her car; the school district was notified and in turn checked their inventory while state police checked pawn shops.
The police have reportedly recovered 12 instruments and one desktop computer from local pawn shops.
