Being a Florida resident, it's not hard to find a good Florida story and sometimes I even get to wrote about stories from Indian River County, where I reside. But never has a story hit so close to home. And by home, I mean one of my favorite bars I frequent.
Say hello to Cory Beachem, 25, of Vero Beach Florida who was causing trouble by grabbing a microphone stand while the band was on stage and asked to leave at Tiki Bar & Grill in Sebastian, Florida.
That should be the end of the story, but it's not.
The report states that Beachem walked into the middle of Indian River Drive and appeared to be trying to fight vehicles that were passing or going around him. Indian River Drive is the street Tiki Bar & Grill is on.
One block from Indian River Drive is the famous US 1 where Beachem went next. The police spotted him, shirtless and laying down on US 1; never a good idea.
He started punching street signs and ran as investigators arrived.
Beachem was jailed on charges including disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence.
Tiki Bar & Grill does use the saying "Getting Freaky at the Tiki" on their t-shirts, but I think Beachem took it a little too far :)
This story is just too easy. I will close with "He should have just dropped the mike."
