Cybercriminals using ads to sell bogus products

Many mobile apps push ads. But cybercriminals also use this venue to steal user data. Often, a fraudulent web site will have ads that try to sell “iPhone 5” and “Samsung Galaxy Note II” at ridiculous prices.


In reality, these sites are just scam sites that try to defraud users out of their money. They do not actually sell the devices they are promoting.

These ads are currently only being directed toward Chinese users, but we expect them to become more global.
