Malware found on Obama Care server

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 09/05/2014 10:50 AM [ comments Comments ]

A hacker, in early July, was able to infiltrate a server connected to Healthcare.gov, deposit malware on it, and remain undetected for about a month and a half.

According to CNN, the malware was never used and no personal info was compromised. The server was a test machine for trying out software and was never intended to be connected to the internet. And since it was not intended to be connected, it's security was set to the default password. Weak. Very weak. Which is why the hacker could gain entry.

What is problematic is that it took security personnel until Aug. 25th to discover the malware.
