How would you feel if a complete stranger messaged you that intimate pictures of you were on the internet? A woman was advised by a stranger through private messaging that intimate photos of her were posted to a “revenge porn” website by a man she met on a dating website.
Jason Poucher, 25, of Grimsby posted the naked photos of her online after they swapped intimate pictures. The woman said she was left devastated.
The couple had swapped intimate photos and some were sent with her face exposed. Poucher betrayed her trust and posted nine images of her online. Poucher admitted to the postings on Sept. 18th.
The event went to court and the Grimsby magistrates heard that the couple grew close and their messages became more sexual in nature. Poucher convinced the woman to swap explicit pictures with him. Once the woman was alerted to the pictures she testified that seeing the images of herself online truly affected her life. Her trust, privacy and confidentiality had been breached.
Poucher blamed his actions on being drunk, according to his attorney. The court sentenced Poucher to 100 hours of unpaid work, five days of rehabilitation and was ordered to pay £200 compensation, £85 costs and a £150 court charge since he had a clean record.
