A man in Iowa called police to report that he had not been paid for his illegally sold prescription pills; he even managed to call police back several times to find out why they were taking so long to respond.
The Press-Citizen reports that Daniel P. Noehl Sr., 57, called Iowa City police at 11:30 a.m. Sunday to report that he sold some of his prescription medication to a friend but that the friend had not paid him.
While officers were en route to Noehl’s Dolphin Lake Point Enclave residence at 2401 Highway 6 E., Noehl called police three or four more times to see what was taking so long, according criminal complaints.
Upon arrival, Noehl told police he had given a friend three prescription pill bottles, about 230 pills total, with the agreement that he was to be paid $1.25 per pill, according to police.
Noehl said he planned to use the drug money for groceries and cigarettes, police say.
Noehl claims that he was not aware that his actions were illegal or he would have "sold them a long time ago when he was on drugs."
Police say Noehl then admitted to smoking crack cocaine within a few days and showed police a metal crack pipe with burnt residue on it.
