If you are going to commit an armed robbery you would probably be more likely to accomplish the ill deed if you at least match the intended victim in firepower...
Opposing Views reports that the sheriff’s department in Washington County, Ore., claims that 22-year-old Derrick Mosley attempted to rob a gun store with a baseball bat. Apparently, that whole "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" rule also applies to baseball bats.
The sheriff’s office explained the suspect allegedly entered a gun store, smashed a display case with a baseball bat and then removed one of the handguns.
Unsurprisingly, the store owner who was present at the time just so happened to have a loaded gun on hand. The manager phoned 911, and when that didn’t cause the suspect to flee, the manager drew his weapon and pointed it at the suspect. The manager then ordered Mosley to drop his weapons. The manager kept Mosley at the scene until the police arrived, arrested the suspect and hauled him off to jail.
Mosley is being held on $250,000 bail and has been charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and second-degree criminal mischief.
