A couple in Pismo Beach, CA., were arrested for sending/receiving a controlled substance to jail, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
The charges stem from meth discovered hidden between 2 sections of a greeting card that was mailed by Jason Todd Hunter, 44, to his girlfriend Samantha Jo Long, 29, who was in jail on an unrelated charge.
According to San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office via The Tribune, a deputy at the jail intercepted a greeting card addressed to Long on Dec. 11 that contained a white powdery substance wrapped in plastic and hidden between two sections of the card. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.
An investigation was initiated which identified Hunter as the person who had sent the card. A warrant was issued and the couple was located at a hotel and arrested. During the search of the hotel room authorities found 2 ounces of meth and drug paraphernalia. Merry Christmeth!
