John McAfee, who founded McAfee Associates back in 1987, had the following reaction to the news from Intel that it was dropping its association with McAfee anti-virus brand over the next few years as it switches to its own in-house Intel Security brand.
"Thank God. I will no longer have 2 apologize for the @McAfee software," he said in a Twitter update when Intel first floated the idea of dropping McAfee.
"I am now everlastingly grateful to Intel for freeing me from this terrible association with the worst software on the planet," McAfee said. "These are not my words, but the words of millions of irate users."
"My elation at Intel's decision is beyond words," he added.
Come on, John, don't sugar coat it.
