A Pennsylvania McDonald's worker has been arrested for putting some extra things in the Happy Meals. The 26 year sold heroin to a undercover narcotics detective after a controlled buy was set up due to the information provided by a confidential informant.
According to the report in the Post-Gazette, Shantia Marie Dennis, 26, of Bessemer Avenue in East Pittsburgh, was arrested after the district attorney's Narcotics Enforcement Team received a tip from an informant that heroin was being sold out of the McDonald's at 6361 Penn Ave.
According to a criminal complaint, the deal was arranged in advance by an informant, then an officer and the informant pulled up to the drive-thru and sent Ms. Dennis a text to tell her they had arrived. After ordering a "Happy Meal toy" at the intercom, the informant gave Ms. Dennis $82 and she put a bundle of heroin stamp bags into a Happy Meal box and handed it out the first drive-thru window.
The suspect was found in possession of 50 bags of heroin, not including the 10 she had put into the Happy Meal after the detective and the informant made the controlled buy.
Ms. Dennis was arrested and charged drug delivery and possession charges as well as "criminal use of a communication facility." Which I am assuming is the drive-thru speaker? I think that might throw a wrench in the prosecution....there is no way either party could understand what was being said.
