McGruff the crime dog actor gets ruff sentence for weapons, drug possession

Times have been ruff for John Russell Morales, 41, who played McGruff the cartoon crime dog; Morales was recently sentenced to 16 years in prison for possession of around 1000 pot plants along with a large cache of weapons.
Back in 2011, Morales was stopped for speeding by Galveston, TX., police officers, they discovered a detailed diagrams of 2 indoor grow-op's along with an abundance of marijuana seeds inside the car.
When the police raided his home they seized 1,000 marijuana plants and 9,000 rounds of ammunition for 27 weapons — including a shotgun, pistols, rifles, and a military grenade launcher, according to court documents obtained by NBC News.
