Microsoft has announced that as of April, it will no longer support Vista.
What that means to users is that come April 11th, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates.
Vista was launched ten years ago on January 30, 2007. Mainstream support ended in April 2012, but Microsoft is ending extended support.
Of course, systems will still function, but at an increased risk of being infected.
Users and administrators are being encouraged to upgrade their system, which will require the purchase of a new OS or a new device.
