Microsoft has updated its Bing browser so that it gives a more specific warning when users land on a malicious site.
Microsoft is doing away with its generic warning that a site may contain malware for a more specific warning such as “this might be a phishing site” or “This site might lead to malicious software”.
Chad Foster, Bing program manager, wrote: “Bing now gives more details about the type of threat the user is facing. Furthermore, this improvement enables webmasters to clean their site quicker by having stronger insights into why their site was flagged.”
While surfers will get the “this might be a phishing site” or “This site might lead to malicious software”, webmasters will get a more specific notice so that they can better fish out the culprit.
