If you were hit with the Mircop ransomware, there is a decryption key available for free.
You will know the ransomware by the exorbitant ransom. Mircop asks for 48.48 Bitcoin (~$32,000). It also displays a ransom note, which uses the masked Guy Fawkes figure, saying that you need to pay back the hacker whose money you stole.
Security researcher Michael Gillespie along with researchers at Trend Micro has created the decryptor key which can be downloaded Here.
Just unzip the file and run the application. For safety reasons, the decryptor will leave the original encryption files intact in case the decryptor fails to work.
If for some reason you have difficulty with the process, Gillespie will lend you a hand by way of his forum on BleepingComputer's forum thread.
