A boyfriend and girlfriend have been arrested and charged with assault after the callous attack was caught on CCTV; the pair rolled through a Lion’s Choice drive-thru in St. Louis, MO., shooting an employee in the shoulder with a yellow Nerf dart.
KMOV reports, Stephanie Winkler, 22, and Mark Applebaum, 26, were both charged with third-degree assault.
A physical injury does not have to occur for assault charges to be filed. The presence of fear alone can institute a third-degree assault charge, which is punishable by one to 15 days in jail and a $300 fine.
The video shows the couple pull through the drive-thru without ordering anything, then slowly drivng up to the window, Winkler then opened fire on the worker with a yellow Nerf dart.
Both suspects are due in court on April 14.
