Mt.Gox to be sold at auction

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 07/09/2014 10:48 AM [ comments Comments ]

Mt. Gox is in the news again as CEo Mark Karpeles is auctioning off Bitcoins.com. He announced that any proceeds obtained from the sale will go to those people who lost money on the now bankrupt exchange.

Heritage Auctions, the U.S.-based auction house, will sell the site on July 24 with an opening bid set at $185,000. Speculation is that the site could be sold for as much as $750,000.

Proceeds from the sale of Bitcoins.com will partly be used to provide relief to Bitcoin holders who lost money in the collapse of Mt. Gox.
