Netflix Finds Users Passwords on the Web

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 10/18/2016 09:45 AM [ comments Comments ]

Netflix passwords are floating around the internet......change yours now!

Writer Steve Safran with AdWeek said: "As part of our regular security monitoring, we discovered that credentials that match your Netflix email address and password were included in a release of email addresses and passwords from a breach at another company."

Netflix is changing user’s passwords and is telling its customers to change it. "This is part of our ongoing, proactive efforts to alert members to potential security risks not associated with Netflix. There can be a variety of triggers such as username and password breaches at other companies, phishing schemes, and malware attacks."

Like other companies, Netflix systematically scans the web for password dumps. Where the dump came from is anyone’s guess.
