New on MajorGeeks: Utilu Mozilla Firefox Collection

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 11/08/2017 02:04 AM [ comments Comments ]

Looking for a particular version of Firefox for whatever reason and don't have the time to go searching? Look no further! Utilu Mozilla Firefox Collection contains every build of Firefox from 2.0.0.20 to the latest as well as Firebug, and Web Developer.

The collection starts with Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.20 all the way up to the latest stable build, but that's not all. It also includes the Firebug from version 1.3.1, and Web Developer 1.2.13, all with multiple builds that work up to the latest release. Firebug is a plugin designed to edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live. Web Developer adds various web developer tools to the browser.

If you're wondering why we say why not? But the reality Utilu Mozilla Firefox Collection is geared toward web developers. It's common practice for web developers to make sure your web design looks good on all operating systems, and browsers. This package allows you to quickly and easily check your design against older browsers as well as find and fix any problems.

The installation allows you to select any version of Firefox, Firebug, and Web Developer you like. By default, all versions will be installed. Note that this isn't every version but rather the last stable version. For example, if you want to install 2.0, it will only install 2.0.0.20, the final stable release of the 2.0 versions. Note that you can use over 7GB of space installing everything. Installation can take ten minutes or more if installing everything on a fast computer.

Finally, you can set up your options during the installation. Your options include Context Menu, Install for all users, Default Browser, and Create desktop and Quick Launch icons. Be careful how many you install. On the first run of Utilu Mozilla Firefox Collection, it opened so many versions of Firefox that it slowed our computer to a crawl.

Utilu Mozilla Firefox Collection is best for web developers. The collection only goes back a couple of years because the usage of a browser beyond that age is a tiny number. Older versions going back to 1.0 can always be downloaded on the Mozilla Firefox releases FTP if you want to get nostalgic.
