The EduCrypt ransomware will encrypt your files, but its main purpose is to teach the victim a lesson about safety on the web.

The ransomware will only encrypt files in these folders:
%UserProfile%\Desktop
%UserProfile%\Downloads
%UserProfile%\Documents
%UserProfile%\Pictures
%UserProfile%\Music
%UserProfile%\Videos
There is a hidden file that holds the decryption key and can be located at %UserProfile%\Documents\DecryptPassword.txt. It is a universal decryption key for all victims.
Or you can use the key developed by Michael Gillespie at URL: //download.bleepingcomputer.com/demonslay335/hidden-tear-decrypter.zip.
