Newegg to accept Bitcoins

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 07/03/2014 04:05 PM [ comments Comments ]

Online retailer Newegg has officially announced that it will now accept Bitcoin for payment. Newegg now joins the likes of Virgin Galactic, Overstock, TigerDirect, and even Dish Network and others who have either started accepting Bitcoins or plans to in the near future.

BitPay has been chosen to facilitate the transactions for Newegg. But consumers must be aware that their return policy will only allow for store credit. Shoppers won't be able to return their goods for Bitcoins or real-world currency.

Soren Mills, chief marketing officer for Newegg North America, said: "Newegg's customers are among some of the earliest bitcoin miners and are enthusiastic proponents of the crypto-currency. Adopting bitcoin as a payment method is another way we're responding to our customers' diverse needs."
