North Korea is still insisting that it had nothing to do with the hack of Sony Pictures.
The country has lashed out at President Obama for the sanctions that the Treasury Dept. imposed on North Korean operatives.
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has claimed to have uncovered evidence linking North Korea to the harmful hack on struggling film studio Sony Pictures late last year.
North Korea's foreign ministry was quoted as saying: "The policy persistently pursued by the U.S. to stifle the DPRK, groundlessly stirring up bad blood toward it, would only harden its will and resolution to defend the sovereignty of the country.”
The official also claimed that the sanctions displayed the U.S. government's "inveterate repugnancy and hostility" towards Pyongyang.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said the sanctions will “further isolate key North Korean entities and disrupt the activities of close to a dozen critical North Korean operatives.”
